TrekTranslate ("Trek", "we", "us") protects personal data processed through trektranslate.com ("Website") and during translation service delivery. This policy complies with GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and Italian data protection law (D.Lgs. 196/2003 as amended by D.Lgs. 101/2018). It applies to all personal data collected via our Website, email, project management systems, and payment platforms.

3.1 Contact Data: Name, email, phone, company, project brief — collected directly from you to respond to enquiries and deliver services. 3.2 Source Materials: Documents submitted for translation. These may contain third-party personal data (names in legal documents, patient identifiers, employee information). Such data is processed solely for translation under strict confidentiality. 3.3 Payment Data: Processed by Stripe, Inc. (PCI DSS Level 1). Trek does not store card details. 3.4 Analytics: Plausible Analytics (EU-hosted, cookie-free, no personal data). 3.5 Communications: Email and project management records for service delivery and quality assurance.
Translation projects frequently contain special category data: medical records, court documents, immigration files. We process this exclusively for translation, relying on GDPR Article 9(2)(f) (legal claims) or explicit client consent. All linguists handling sensitive materials are NDA-bound and, where applicable, subject to professional codes of conduct (legal, medical).

When linguists are outside the EEA, transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (Decision 2021/914) and supplementary measures per Schrems II. Sensitive materials transmitted via encrypted channels with access logging.
